שָׁחַן

שָׁחַן(cmp. שחם) to be hot, parched. Part. pass. שָׁחוּן, f. שְׁחוּנָה (sub. ארץ) parched, scabby soil. Y.Yoma V, 42c top; Bab. ib. 53b, a. e., v. גָּשַׁם. Hif. הִשְׁחִין to heat. B. Kam.82a משביע ומַשְׁחִיןוכ׳ it (garlic) satisfies, heats (the body)
